Five Predictions For The Future Of Energy | Fast Company

Okay, I woke up pretty crabby this morning so I really need to do some idiot-bashing today. Whaddya say? Up for it? Hey, always work for me.

So, here's a question: What ever happened to the momentum we all felt a few years ago?

How is it that so many innovators in technologies and business models that held so much promise in '09 and early '10 are finding the promise of their genius on life support at best?

I have my theories and suspects, but it all boils down to the same perennial buzz killers: (1) the lack of vision so prevalent among the financial community (unless they are, of course, dreaming up new ways to line their own pockets), and (2) the [temporary] resurgence of idiots in Congress, and the special interests they serve.

(I mean, really, Newt Gingrich again? New wife, new suit, same old fear-mongering divisiveness).

Case in point: I present this latest list from the pages of Fast Company for your reference. I seem to recall a more upbeat, aggressive set of predictions for renewable energy only 12 months ago. Just shows what a few months of republicans can do to vision -- and hope.
